Wow, at the age of 46, I just got it! Grace is God's kindness to humanity! Kindness is when the strong lend their strength to the weak. How do you use your strength? Do you give it to the weak, or do you use it against them?
Even worse, do you undeservingly lavish it on yourself? God could use His strength against us all because none of us deserve kindness. We all deserve death, and I am overwhelmed by His loving kindness. When we desire to know God, He reveals and exposes us to the treasures of our hearts' truth - grace and love.
I'm not sure, but I think that God allows things, people, and opportunities to die to keep us alive and to teach us to understand the fragility of life. When it's sunny, you don't need your umbrella or rain boots. In life, it's not until we experience a significant loss that we begin to evaluate what we had and what we will do with what is remaining. Everything has a place, time, and season. We are all dying; some have seconds, minutes, hours, days, years, or decades.
No matter how much time we have left, live in the present! The depth of loss that we're confronted by solidifies the importance of making the most of each second. Our time is entrusted to us by God, and we need to use it as if we are living for Him, not for ourselves. Our primary purpose for existence is to become the display of his splendor. Using His power, truth, grace, and love to fulfill and accomplish His plans and purpose is the reason for our lives. Go live life as if there is no tomorrow because we don't know if there will be.
Read Chapter 11: Acts 11:23-24King James Version (KJV)
23 Who, when he came and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
