Letting Go

I had to let go and give in to loving you, knowing the end was close. I guess I knew that loving you meant I had to put you first, and loving you meant I had to stop thinking about the end and enjoy the time we would have.

Loving you meant I had to leave the past in the past, and yes, I have loved like this before. It’s beautiful and also sobering; it reminds us that life and love do not belong to us.

We can't tell our heart who and how long to love. We must let go! Only when we let go, do we ever gain the power to live and love truly. Only then can we learn the lessons that selfless love can teach. Selfless love shows us grace, service, humility, and most of all; it tells us that life is about relationships.

The value of a person’s life should be gauged by God, marriage, children, family, and friends. Things should never be the gauge of the meaning of life. Our greatest accomplishment is the richness and the depth of our love for God, ourselves, and others.

Letting go has allowed me to gain priceless, life-changing gifts; such as love, grace, and compassion for others.Thank you, God, for allowing me to learn to let go. Thank you for teaching me about cherishing relationships. Mother Day, your love will live on in the hearts of each person that has had a relationship with you. Now, I let you go!

Read Chapter 42: Isaiah 42:10-12 King James Version (KJV)

10 Sing unto the Lord a new song and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

12 Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands.
